The film *La Llorona* felt too slow for me, but I wouldn't say it’s poorly made. I simply had trouble staying engaged with what was happening; occasionally something would grab my attention, only to lose me again soon after. It’s disappointing because there are positive aspects present. It leans more toward political drama than horror, although the supernatural elements aren’t completely missing—I just expected more of that genre. That's largely my fault, especially considering I watched *The Curse of La Llorona* (also from 2019, oddly enough) recently; I actually enjoyed that film, unlike many others. No performer really dominates the movie, but Sabrina De La Hoz, Margarita Kenéfic, María Mercedes Coroy and Julio Díaz all deserve recognition. The people working behind the camera are just as worthy of praise as those in front; it's a well-crafted production visually speaking. It’s not bad, just not particularly good—at least, that’s my opinion.
