The director’s previous film, 'Eeram', was remarkable—a standout horror movie that influenced contemporary Tamil filmmaking. That genre is now quite common, with similar films appearing regularly. This new release feels adequately crafted, in my opinion. Adapted from a book sharing the same title, it seems the screenplay prioritized commercial aspects, such as featuring prominent actors. It could have been a stronger work for both the director and the actor if that hadn’t been the case. There's a current tendency in Tamil cinema to create films aspiring to international parallel cinema standards, and this one missed out on that potential. Following his portrayal of a villain in 'Yennai Arindhaal', this marks Arun Vijay’s return as the sole lead. He has clearly put considerable effort into achieving his position and preparing for this role, and I hope he continues to choose quality projects moving forward. It's centered around police work: a murder, a disappearance, then another attempted killing; a young officer intervenes to protect a young woman, and they develop feelings for each other. Simultaneously, the story unfolds with unexpected developments as the crime is investigated. The process of identifying the perpetrator and their motives leads into the final act, bringing closure to the narrative. It's a more enjoyable film than many mainstream releases, and I reiterate that it had the chance to be even better. It’s among the stronger police stories available, with solid casting choices. The runtime was somewhat lengthy, but still acceptable due to the captivating storyline. The musical numbers could have been shorter; while not bothersome for local audiences, they feel out of place in such an intense crime thriller for international viewers. I'm hesitant to wholeheartedly suggest it, but it’s certainly worth seeing. _7/10_
