However, Thomas Vinterberg has crafted a film with a believable and fairly absorbing storyline, supported by strong performances from Matthias Schoenaerts and August Diehl, who realistically portray the confined conditions within the vessel. Max von Sydow effectively embodies the archetype of an entrenched authority figure, highlighting the feeling that greater efforts might have been possible if political considerations hadn't overshadowed the urgency to save lives. While any judgments about how precise the international cooperation was would be guesswork, Colin Firth brings a palpable sense of willingness and understanding of the critical time constraints to his role. It’s definitely worth seeing.
