Suddenly, characters appear—a fox, then a panda, and then the villains! I want to give a shout-out to the reviewers on this site, Souljaboytellem! The scriptwriters should probably cut some phrases from their repertoire, specifically "method," as in method acting. The term immediately makes me think of Jared Leto, and linking your movie to his “method acting” is likely not beneficial. Method acting and Jared Leto were constantly on my mind throughout the film. It was made worse by a tendency to repeat things—"it's nice, let’s say it again." The plot feels foreseeable, which is amplified by how obvious everything is. On top of that, the interactions between Po and Zhen leading up to the "big stink" are decent enough to possibly distract you if you haven’t already seen them many times or if they hadn't explained everything so explicitly. Po’s fathers are acceptable; he has a biological father who is a widower and an adopted father. These characters are familiar. Their storyline feels somewhat superfluous, but the "two dads" concept isn’t particularly complex.
