There’s something about films that feels like playing a video game—that final fight with Shang Tsung, the gameplay from Shadow of the Colossus, perhaps even a nod to Dune. Despite being fairly obvious and containing some questionable elements, I ended up enjoying it. John Boyega delivers a solid performance; his intensity felt concentrated at the beginning, and possibly eases off later, but it’s still a restrained, impactful portrayal. I did partake in cannabis consumption during the initial portion of the film. I'm a big fan of Awkwafina.
