I’d say this is likely my top pick among the series of animated action comedies, though it seems we're starting to exhaust the ideas they can use. "Po" is informed by "Master Shifu" that he needs to advance and find a replacement—something that doesn't please him—so he has to select a new dragon warrior so that Shifu can pursue more intellectual interests. Fortunately, there’s also “Chameleon,” who intends to steal the abilities of those now banished and then use Kung Fu to conquer the globe. "Po" is forced to postpone his advancement and, together with his newly acquired and helpful vulpine companion, "Zhen," attempts to stop these terrible plans. Despite the abundance of action sequences and jokes at Po’s expense, the plot feels very familiar. Even the panda has been incorporated into a multi-verse storyline, which I'm honestly tired of—particularly because it doesn't come with much real danger. This is a completely foreseeable narrative that, in this instance, fails to develop the personalities of his friends from the "Furious Five." It’s enjoyable enough and the story moves along well; there are some amusing moments at a shaky mountaintop inn, but I suspect I’ve already forgotten most of it.
