Kung Fu Panda 3 delivers exactly what you’d anticipate: a series of jokes, silly moments, and over-the-top displays of martial arts skill. Po remains true to form—awkward, innocent, an expert in martial arts, and amusing. He's joined by his familiar companions from earlier films, including Shifu, who seems less than enthusiastic as always. The venerable turtle Oogway reappears from the initial Kung Fu Panda installment, sort of. As expected, there’s a formidable antagonist, General Kai, whose history is connected to Oogway. General Kai works well as a villain; he has an appropriately wild look on his face. A bull already embodies a volatile and aggressive nature, which makes for a decent beginning. The central plot revolves around overcoming General Kai, but Po’s reconnection with his biological father and the other humorous, and very awkward, residents of the Panda village occupies a significant portion of the film's runtime. Overall, the narrative is pleasant, featuring some unexpected developments. It won't be shocking to learn that Po, predictably, triumphs in a massive confrontation against General Kai. The animation during the final battle is quite impressive. Ultimately, this is a movie I’d suggest for families.
