Approach this one with some reservations. It’s yet another story unfolding in a remote location, featuring a small group of characters, and produced on a modest scale—a reimagining of ‘Death Game.’ Following his portrayal of a formidable figure in his earlier work, Keanu Reeves takes on a role that's almost the complete opposite. Think about what occurred to those two intruders who invaded his home in 'John Wick,' but now imagine he’s powerless to stop them or influence events. He portrays an ordinary man—a husband and father of two with a lovely wife and a spacious home. The promotional material divulges quite a bit of the plot beforehand. However, what remains of the movie isn't unpleasant, although that doesn’t necessarily mean I found it good. It felt like a standard film because the script was too unfocused. Not only did it feel foreseeable, but the narrative drifted without purpose and the characters' reasons were never clarified. Consequently, any sense of intrigue is left unresolved. It’s one of those movies that prompts speculation about what could have been. The ending suggests potential for a continuation, though I doubt another installment will materialize. The actresses were attractive and delivered solid performances. It seemed to be striving for an erotic crime thriller vibe, but did it succeed? I'm not sure. The initial version came out in the 70s, which might have been considered scandalous back then, but today it doesn’t feel particularly remarkable or impactful—similar to 'I Spit on Your Grave.' It’s fine enough for casual viewing, but it could have been much more compelling with stronger writing, acting, and unexpected developments. 5/10
