This feels like a significant return for M. Night Shyamalan, potentially his strongest work since Signs! Featuring outstanding performances from everyone involved, especially Dave Bautista who gives what’s being called a career highlight, the movie delves into the difficult emotional landscape of serious moral choices people have to make when their lives are on the line. The story unfolds entirely within one setting, utilizing consistent camera work (by Jarin Blaschke) and sound design that creates an intensely stressful feeling. It's captivating from beginning to end, and it seems like a future cult favorite is emerging. Rating: A-
