It seems like this film is derived from a modified edition...and since I’m not familiar with anime, I couldn’t say what changes were made compared to the original, as I haven't experienced either version. However, the term "censor" likely signaled where things began to decline. The concepts of “censorship” and “artistic vision” rarely coexist harmoniously. It felt like we were watching a television-edited adaptation, similar to what might have happened with "Pulp Fiction." Or perhaps it just appeared that the focus was on aesthetics, but that superficial quality didn’t last very long. Regardless, it proved to be an unpleasant and tedious film. Still, Samuel Jackson's presence made it worthwhile; I’m willing to endure terrible movies simply because he participates in them.
