"Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects" places sexual abuse and various illegal acts front and center. The film portrays misconduct as tied to the rigid sexual norms of Japanese culture, meaning that instances of sexual assault are handled with extreme secrecy. This aspect gives the movie an unusual depth rarely seen in its category. Beyond this, the narrative focuses on more predictable and well-worn ideas, following Lieutenant Crowe, played by Charles Bronson, as he seeks retribution against the dishonest Duke. A particularly memorable scene involves Crowe compelling the Duke to consume his own gold Rolex watch as payback for how he exploits young girls and forces them into a degrading life of prostitution that sustains his lifestyle.
