This Farrelly brothers’ movie about bowling features Woody Harrelson, Randy Quade, Vanessa Angel, and Bill Murray. A bowler who used to be a professional finds an Amish boy with amazing talent in Pennsylvania. As he trains the kid, they become involved with a former girlfriend of a rich guy who loves bowling and travel to Reno, Nevada, for a tournament. There, they run into someone who’s both a swindler and a rival. "Kingpin," released in 1996, is a comedy from the Farrelly brothers that suffers from their typical reliance on crude humor, like jokes about bathrooms and sex. If you can tolerate or even enjoy that kind of thing, it's an okay story about someone finding a second chance, with some funny moments helped along by the road trip aspect. The movie has a running time of 1 hour and 54 minutes and was filmed in Pennsylvania (specifically Mars, Rochester & Pittsburgh), Nevada (Reno) and New York (Webster). GRADE: B-
