_King Richard_ is a moving biographical drama detailing the journey of the Williams sisters to success, and it's successful in every aspect. I felt that it portrayed very well the difficulties involved in achieving greatness in any competitive field, while also depicting a father’s desire to safeguard his Black daughters within a predominantly white society. It managed to find a really good equilibrium that seemed authentic. Will Smith delivers an outstanding performance; it's arguably one of his finest portrayals in quite some time. It’s easy to understand why he was the clear choice for best actor at the Golden Globes. The supporting cast also performed admirably, and I was particularly taken with the two young actresses and Jon Bernthal. Bernthal possesses a remarkable versatility as an actor; he's significantly undervalued in Hollywood.
