A worthwhile film that I’d happily watch again and feel comfortable suggesting to others. This is an excellent, believable psychological thriller. The experience centers on Caitlin Stasey’s performance as a woman whose descent into madness unfolds before your eyes. I find it puzzling, given the quality of her acting here, that she isn't more well-known than Thora Birch, who seems to be used sparingly. It's also interesting to see Birch in a role portraying someone with maternal qualities. While Stasey is undoubtedly the film’s driving force, Sasha Frolova contributes significantly as well. The plot itself is fairly standard, but there’s enough care put into the production and the concept is so skillfully realized that it feels like truly superb writing. It certainly required considerable skill to craft the complex deceptions within the narrative; the degree of sociopathy on display is remarkable. From a psychological standpoint, this is an impressive film, and I'm confident those who enjoy "social drama" or suspense will find something to appreciate here.
