While dealing with a dispute over her child, “Karla” (Halle Berry) brings her son “Frankie” (Sage Correa) to a park. During an important phone call, he is taken, and she only catches a glimpse of him being forced into a vehicle. She immediately begins chasing after him, and the subsequent ninety minutes detail her improbable pursuit. Having lost her phone in the parking lot, she’s unable to call for assistance. Could this be the work of her ex? Or perhaps someone on set trying to limit the child's screen time? Regardless, Karla isn't letting go as they travel out of town with an unknown destination. She does manage a direct encounter at one point and learns that $10k will secure Frankie’s return, but this plot element is so absurd it raises questions about what convinced Berry to participate in such a progressively silly movie. To her credit, she portrays her character's fear and urgency throughout the story, though the situations are simply unbelievable and too convenient to be taken seriously beyond that point; the editing and continuity seem amateurish. Still, you might want to avoid crossing her if she’s holding a shovel.
