I went in expecting a lighthearted comedy, but it turned out to be something else entirely—a genuinely intense film with violent scenes. It felt similar to Kill Bill, though without some of the more extreme elements. This wasn't a frivolous picture at all. The character Kick-Ass seemed rather foolish; essentially an ordinary student attempting to become extraordinary. Of all the choices he could have made, becoming a superhero was what he settled on. Big Daddy and Hit Girl provided the authentic action sequences, and their portrayals were quite amusing. I honestly struggle to find words to describe Nicolas Cage's character—a father figure who seems lost when it comes to raising a daughter. Chloe Moretz, however, was remarkable; she performed all of the movie’s stunts. It’s hard to believe this girl is only 13. I am definitely a fan. Red Mist also struck me as being just as silly as Kick-Ass. I'd give this film an A grade.
