A pair of friends from Brooklyn—Jerry O'Connell and Anthony Anderson—find themselves tasked by a mob boss, portrayed by Christopher Walken, to transport $50,000 across the Outback. Things quickly go wrong when a kangaroo accidentally makes off with one of their jackets… along with the money itself. Michael Shannon appears as a menacing figure connected to the mob. "Kangaroo Jack," released in 2003, provides an enjoyable and accessible adventure/comedy experience suitable for families, though it does include predictable jokes aimed at children. The film is entertaining and inoffensive, benefiting from stunning visuals of Australia and Estella Warren’s presence as a conservationist who lives there. A significant strength lies in the amusing rapport between the two leads. However, I wasn't entirely satisfied with how engaging the plot turned out to be, and it seemed that the movie didn't quite do justice to Estella’s attractiveness beyond showcasing her face and figure. The film has a running time of 1 hour and 29 minutes and was filmed in both Australia and Brooklyn, with additional scenes shot later in Los Angeles. GRADE: C+
