This superhero team movie proved to be quite enjoyable, and I think it’s getting an undeservedly harsh reaction from reviewers. While it doesn't reach the high standard set by Wonder Woman earlier this summer, it was still a pleasant experience. One thing that elevates it above some of the other movies in the DC Extended Universe is its humor; those earlier films were often criticized for being overly serious and lacking any levity. Gal Gadot really shines as Wonder Woman. This film also handled Superman much better than before. In Man of Steel, his fight with Zod led to a lot of civilian deaths without him seeming to notice, which just didn't seem right for the character. That bothered me quite a bit as someone who likes Superman. Here, he demonstrates that he cares about protecting ordinary people, even going so far as to carry an entire building full of them out of harm’s way during the fight with the villain. The only real problem is Steppenwolf; his appearance felt artificial and computer-generated, and he didn't seem very developed. However, he's just a setup for the actual antagonist—Darkseid. Both of the scenes after the credits rolled were fun to watch, especially the one hinting at the creation of the Legion of Doom/Injustice League, which I found really interesting.
