I recall having seen a French adaptation of this movie on TV as a child, although my memory of it mostly involves two men transported from the medieval period appearing in contemporary city streets. I located this version after some searching and selected it because I believed it would be straightforward to follow, partly due to certain revisions that had been made. While nothing can truly replace the original, this is an acceptable option for those who haven’t experienced it. It's a pretty enjoyable film with a basic premise and a straightforward adventure. The concept feels familiar, but the final product possesses its own distinct character. Jean Reno delivered a great performance, as did his partner and the other supporting cast members. The jokes were excellent; I found myself laughing out loud after quite some time. Naturally, there are imperfections, though they’re minor—like the shift in setting from Europe to the US, which is typical for a Hollywood production. It involves fantasy elements centered around time travel; there isn't a conventional time machine, but instead a wizard orchestrates events across different eras. This would make an ideal film for families. It doesn't require you to anticipate what will happen because from the very beginning, you’ll likely know the direction of the story and how it concludes. This allows you to simply unwind and enjoy yourself as much as possible. It is a standard movie, but if you’re looking for a good comedy, then it certainly rises above that level. There are countless exceptional comedies available, and this isn't among them, yet it remains worth watching within the genre. 7/10
