Before Jurassic World came out, you could bet that reviews would be all over the place—some praising it, others criticizing it—similar to the backlash "Indiana Jones 4" got, with people claiming it damaged cherished childhood memories and franchises. Jurassic World delivers exactly what’s anticipated: a big-budget action movie designed for pure entertainment, packed with impressive effects, monster action, and moments of silliness. It's a very conventional sequel, falling back on the original film’s structure but lacking the sophistication that Spielberg brought to it. The cast is enjoyable, with Chris Pratt embodying classic adventure hero qualities, and Bryce Dallas Howard (looking radiant in Blu-ray) providing an amusing supporting character. The script introduces some new impressive creatures into the series, while the cinematography, stunts, and musical score are all quite good. The storyline involving the Velociraptors is weak and silly, nearly as absurd as Bryce’s character's footwear choices, and the sense of déjà vu can be a bit irritating occasionally, but it’s an enjoyable experience that shouldn’t be taken too seriously or seen as a failure for the series. 7/10
