The film Joy falls flat. David O. Russell attempts to employ his usual actors within a narrative centered on a troubled family that holds back the protagonist. The story follows this character as she battles against her relatives and any obstacles in her path, ultimately achieving triumph. We’ve witnessed comparable plots previously in "The Fighter" and "Silver Linings Playbook," and surprisingly, those films succeeded where this one doesn't. Notably, the conclusion feels hurried and incomplete, and the nod to “Citizen Kane” comes across as immature and predictable.
