It’s an acceptable film, though I doubt I’ll revisit it, and I can’t really suggest it beyond a night of watching bad movies. Seeing this felt like stepping into a time capsule, offering a glimpse at the origins of "The Matrix," perhaps with more influence from "The Lawnmower Man." It's obvious that the filmmakers lacked the technology to realize their full vision for the film. Dina Meyer ("Starship Troopers" as Dizzy) and the laser whip—a “Hot Garotte”—are definitely highlights; I’m curious why this hasn't been incorporated into more movies. Keanu Reeves seemed to be doing his best to keep things afloat, but the script isn't particularly strong, even though there was a solid story and world at its core. It shows its age, yet it's enjoyable enough that I would genuinely like to see a remake. There’s not much more to add: the production values and overall quality didn't quite measure up, making it hard to justify another viewing.
