The latest installment, John Wick: Chapter 4, brings a definitive end to this transformative series with an intense and unforgiving action spectacle that ultimately earns its considerable runtime. The incredible stunts are worthy of the praise they receive; calling them "some of the best ever" isn't an overstatement. The ensemble cast includes some truly excellent new faces—Donnie Yen especially, along with a canine companion who were standouts for me. It’s easily the most visually impressive film to date, featuring vibrant cinematography that seems to capture the essence of each character. What’s also remarkable is how much the lighting and camera techniques contribute to the amazing action sequences – one particular shot from above is destined to become iconic. Despite all this, the initial film remains the strongest entry. Rating: A-
