John Wick: Chapter 4 represents the highest achievement in action movies and fight design. While the narrative isn't particularly complex, this is more than compensated for by the most visually impressive action sequences imaginable. The film provides a relentless barrage of action, constantly shifting from one weapon to another, one elaborate set piece to the next, escalating each spectacle beyond what has come before. The combat scenes are continuous, and their artistry and complexity are genuinely astonishing, leaving viewers both impressed and perhaps slightly stunned. From the use of nunchucks to swords, shotguns, hatchets, and brutal hand-to-hand fighting—it's among the greatest action choreography ever put on screen. The camera work is inventive, highlighting each scene and battle with vibrant colors and unusual perspectives that maintain a sense of excitement and engagement. Keanu Reeves performs exceptionally well in his familiar role, but the supporting cast of martial artists also contributes significantly to the film’s impact, featuring seasoned performers like Hiroyuki Sanada and Scott Adkins. Donnie Yen is particularly remarkable; his speed and skill are captivating as he dominates every scene he appears in. However, despite all its impressive qualities, the story feels rushed in order to conclude John Wick's journey, which is a bit of a letdown. The way things resolve feel like something that should have been addressed much earlier in the series. But really, that hardly matters. People don’t watch a John Wick movie for intricate storytelling; they come for the martial arts and stylized gunplay, and John Wick: Chapter 4 provides an unmatched display of violent artistry.
