The film picks up immediately following the events of the previous installment, opening with a sweeping view of New York City. Dark comedy is prevalent throughout, as bullets find their marks and Wick proves nearly invincible. This movie sets an exceptionally high bar for action films. The fight sequences are remarkably stable, avoiding excessive camera shake, and it's clear Reeves dedicated significant effort to his preparation. Each takedown, gunshot, and even the necessity of reloading at inopportune moments feels authentic, contributing to the humor in Wick’s subsequent actions. The acting is generally strong; while Reeves isn't known for a vast emotional spectrum, his commitment to delivering an outstanding martial arts film is undeniable. I did find the antagonist somewhat underwhelming, though he fulfilled his part adequately. Ian McShane’s character continues to be a standout, particularly when considered alongside events from the prior movie. The lighting design is exceptional! A red-blue color scheme appears consistently in nightclubs and dimly lit spaces, creating a visually appealing aesthetic. The cinematography as a whole is quite good. It's certainly worth experiencing.
