This film held my attention completely. What really drew me in were several elements: the narrative itself, the performances given by the cast, the portrayal of how a Blackfoot Indian man was treated within the Veterans Affairs healthcare system following World War II—a situation arising from lack of awareness rather than malice—and the unusual tale of a French anthropologist who isn't actually French, brought in to conduct psychoanalysis on Jimmy P. with genuine consideration and empathy. The unfolding medical puzzle also contributed significantly, as did Benicio del Toro’s performance, which I consider his finest work; watching his character's journey was captivating, especially knowing the story is rooted in real events. I developed a strong connection to these individuals, and it’s difficult to move on from their experiences. If you appreciate psychological studies, interactions between people of different backgrounds, and gaining an intimate understanding of a person's inner life, I suggest you consider watching this film.
