Jigra, helmed by Vasan Bala and featuring Alia Bhatt, tells an action thriller story about the connection between a sister and brother, though it doesn't quite manage to make its emotional or storytelling impact felt. The initial idea is interesting, but the way it’s presented lacks energy. The film feels slow at the beginning, and when the action finally arrives, the forward movement has already been diminished. Alia Bhatt delivers an adequate performance, yet even her work isn't enough to fix the script's shortcomings. Characters around her, such as Muthu, who used to be a police officer, and Bhatia, the former gangster, show some possibility but end up relying on familiar tropes. The intended emotional highlights feel unnatural, and although the visuals and camera work are pleasant, the action scenes don’t have the necessary power to really capture attention. In conclusion, Jigra has glimmers of something good, but it doesn't stick with you afterward.
