A sharp-tongued sports agent (Tom Cruise) experiences a change of heart and abruptly finds himself out of work at a major management firm, though he keeps one dedicated coworker (Renee Zellweger) and an eccentric NFL player (Cuba Gooding Jr.). The question is whether they can rebuild their lives. Kelly Preston, Bonnie Hunt, and Regina King also appear in supporting roles. “Jerry Maguire” (1996) blends energetic drama, a romantic storyline, and elements of sports movies. It shows how the demanding, competitive environment doesn’t reward inspiring or sincere behavior, but it still acknowledges the importance of true friendship, heartfelt romance, and especially loyalty. The movie is generally lively and enjoyable, although the middle portion feels less engaging. However, the final section brings everything together in a powerful way. It's among the strongest examples within that occasionally questionable genre (romantic comedy). The film’s length is 2 hours and 19 minutes, and filming took place in the Los Angeles area as well as Phoenix/Tempe, Arizona, including Lost Dutchman State Park located to the east of there.
