It’s interesting how much negativity surrounds the later installments in this series. I don't share the widespread opinion that *Jaws 3-D* is as terrible as some critics claim, and I feel similarly about *Jaws: The Revenge*. It isn't great, but it also isn't quite as awful as its reputation suggests. There are definitely plot issues; to be fair, though, the franchise centers on a massive shark that kills people, even if sharks aren’t really inclined to attack us in real life. Michael Caine appears in this film. I say "appears" because it seems like a trip to the Bahamas and a substantial salary probably made perfect sense for him; he reportedly said himself that he’s never seen it. Lorraine Gary leads a fairly ordinary group of supporting actors. I did notice that their conversations and how they acted with each other felt very stiff and unrealistic. It gets a 5/10 from me, but there are countless films that are significantly worse.
