I can’t say I hate *Jaws 3-D* as much as many people seem to. Dennis Quaid and Bess Armstrong are agreeable enough among the actors, and while the rest of the cast isn’t particularly memorable, they get the job done. The story itself wasn't enjoyable for me, but that’s mainly because it felt incomplete—it’s flawed rather than truly awful. I would probably make the same complaint about the first two movies in the series, too; more shark action would have been welcome. However, there are definitely some terrible aspects to this 1983 film, most notably the special effects, particularly toward the end. The green screen work is also substandard, and the movie’s cover is laughably bad. It's obvious that making it was purely for financial reasons—that seems to be the only justification for using 3-D in the first place—but a pursuit of profit doesn’t automatically make something terrible; and I don’t think this film qualifies as such, at least not in my view. It just isn't very good, though that cover is pretty funny.
