The 3D aspects of this movie provide some entertainment value. It seems like whenever the story loses momentum, a performer will simply grab a long stick and aim it directly at the viewer. This is exactly what happens in this particular film; when the narrative drags, characters begin to wave these sticks toward the lens seemingly without purpose. Dennis Quaid and Bess Armstrong are largely responsible for the frequent use of these props. She especially appears to require considerable strength to repeatedly lift items and direct them at the camera with such regularity. - Potential Kermode
