A perfectly acceptable film to view, and one I could see myself watching again at some point, though I don’t think it’s worth seeking out unless you’re planning an evening of terrible movies or a Friday the 13th viewing event. It's interesting—and also somewhat disheartening—to witness their attempt to reimagine Jason. As someone who appreciated "Fallen," I like the notion of the antagonist passing from host to host, but they took that idea in directions that felt excessive at times. Introducing a “chosen one” element didn’t really work for me. The concept of an almost indestructible villain should be captivating enough on its own; layering additional restrictions onto it just isn't satisfying. I can imagine something along the lines of a Marvel reboot, where government agencies would attempt to control the object, determining how far away it needs to be kept from people, and constructing a secure area around it with animals behaving erratically, while someone infiltrates the facility to discover its nature and becomes possessed. It’s not a particularly good movie, and likely ranks among the weaker "Friday the 13th" installments, but I still got some enjoyment out of it for what it is.
