This film concerns Jason’s quest to obtain a golden fleece so that he can legitimately claim his throne. It’s surprising that I hadn’t seen it before, considering how much of my childhood was spent enjoying fantasy and monster movies. Seeing Harryhausen's stop-motion animation is always enjoyable, and the complete skeleton fight sequence is truly impressive. However, beyond that, the rest feels like a standard movie from its era. It's odd that he essentially robs a tranquil country of their most valued possession and is then presented as the hero??
