It’s a movie you can watch without complaint; not particularly memorable, but it gets by. That’s just my take, naturally. Checking Letterboxd reveals differing opinions on it, though most people seem to agree with me based on their ratings. The beginning does feel a little slow initially, but I found myself enjoying it once things picked up. It's not going to win any awards, but it functions adequately as a fantasy adventure film. I liked all of the actors involved, many of whom are familiar faces. Nicholas Hoult and Eleanor Tomlinson—the only one I hadn’t seen before—deliver solid performances and have good chemistry together, while Ewan McGregor and Ian McShane also contribute positively, along with others. Ewen Bremner's portrayal of Wicke is the weakest link, although he manages to pull it off just barely. I saw some of the special effects beforehand, I think on a movie website when I was looking for information about sequels or something like that, and wasn’t overly impressed at the time. However, within the film itself, the effects are perfectly acceptable; the giants look pretty good.
