Sam Reilly portrays “Tom,” a tennis coach embodying familiar tropes—attractive and spending his days instructing wealthy children at a Spanish resort, while evenings involve drinking and casual relationships. His routine shifts when he's asked to tutor “Anton” (Dylan Torrell), whose mother “Anne” (Stacy Martin) introduces him to her husband, “Dave” (Jack Farthing). They welcome "Tom" into their social circle with dinners and an island tour, but then “Dave” disappears. The police investigation that follows quickly focuses on the connection between “Tom” and “Anne,” suggesting a possible foul play involving “Dave.” While visually appealing, I ultimately found the narrative disappointing. Riley’s performance felt understated; I frequently thought of Paul Bettany in the role. Similarly, Farthing and Martin didn't leave much of an impression as this incomplete mystery struggles to gain momentum, only touching upon ideas that could have been explored more thoroughly—particularly the sense of foreboding initially presented. It's passable entertainment, but overall left me feeling let down.
