There's something about American gay soap operas – they consistently seem compelled to use the same plot device: a timid and unassuming guy sharing a living space with an overtly sexual and physically imposing man. In this instance, “Blaine” (Nicholas Downs) is paired with “Cameron” (Adam Huss), who’s quite the ladies' man. They are close friends; however, "Blaine" has a tendency to push people away with his behavior, only to seek comfort from his roommate, receiving the same familiar advice each time. When “Cameron” uses his friend’s computer and inadvertently makes contact with “Xander” (David Loren), who comments on “Blaine's” appearance, it triggers a series of events. Instead of being honest, he decides to pretend to be someone else, launching a predictable sequence of mistaken identity and deception, echoing the formulaic nature of countless contrived romantic comedies. The film does offer some commentary on people’s excessive coffee orders and the fleeting connections found in online hookups, but it doesn't do so in any inventive way. The conclusion feels rushed, as if someone informed the director about limited storage space, resulting in a hasty wrap-up that lasts only two or three minutes and encapsulates the entire predictable and overly written production. It’s pleasant to look at, and not particularly challenging to watch, but I wouldn't recommend investing your time.
