It's proving tricky to assign a definitive score to this film; at least, that’s how it feels to me. There were definitely scenes that elicited laughter, even genuine amusement, yet simultaneously, the movie often felt remarkably foolish and absurd. The concept—Nazis having escaped to the moon and constructed a hidden base there—seemed like a fairly inventive notion. It's natural to question why, if they possessed such advanced technology as early as 1945, everything still appears so dated, lacking computers, or even explaining how they managed to lose World War II. But let’s not dwell on those details too much…it is intended as a comedy, after all. There are several amusing instances, largely centered around their bewilderment upon encountering an African American astronaut and the subsequent interactions with him. However, there's also a considerable number of moments that just feel incredibly dumb and silly. The portrayal of contemporary America, her public relations team, and most elements connected to them weren’t particularly humorous; they simply seemed foolish. I don’t object to a film poking fun at the American president, but here it was executed in a rather clumsy and nonsensical way. Furthermore, employing someone resembling Sarah Palin felt like an inexpensive joke, especially since that reference is likely to be lost on audiences now who have no memory of her. The special effects were quite impressive, particularly when you consider this is “just” a comedy and the film’s limited budget. The Nazis' steampunk-inspired machinery was enjoyable to watch. Overall, I would say the movie just barely manages to reach an acceptable level of entertainment, but I can’t bring myself to award it anything beyond a fairly standard rating.
