It's hard to escape the feeling that Marvel movies get an unwarranted boost in ratings, seemingly because devoted fans are eager for each new installment and overlook any shortcomings. The question is whether more attention should have been given to crafting a better story and making it genuinely engaging instead of automatically celebrating every release simply to advance the ongoing narrative. Because this isn’t a worthwhile film; there's only about 35 minutes of action that’s passable, followed by over an hour of confusing dialogue. Mickey Rourke was the one bright spot, and his scene at the racetrack was genuinely impressive, but even that felt like a missed chance, much like the movie as a whole. It ended up being a profoundly dull film.
