While lacking a certain spark, 'Invincible' remains a solid sports movie from Disney. Casting Mark Wahlberg as Vince Papale was an excellent decision; the film draws its inspiration from his story. I found myself invested in watching his character’s journey, even though it unfolds along familiar lines, and it still manages to evoke considerable emotion. Greg Kinnear, portraying Dick Vermeil, and Elizabeth Banks, as Janet, both contribute positively with their supporting roles. The actors playing Papale's friends also do well; Michael Kelly stood out among them. The movie does take the expected deviations from what truly occurred, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment. What matters to me is the final product, and this delivers a very pleasant viewing experience. I would suggest seeing it.
