It’s an enjoyable film that I would happily watch again and feel comfortable suggesting to others. A content warning is needed for depictions of sexual violence. Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood are central to this movie, described as a "mysterious dystopia." While the narrative could be interpreted as reflecting experiences of womanhood today, my understanding is more about resilience and making it through difficult circumstances—though those perspectives aren’t mutually exclusive. The plot device of being the last person on Earth works well, but even simply living independently from mainstream society feels overwhelming for most people, let alone when it's the only choice available. This film resonates with me in a similar way to "Frozen" and "Kill La Kill." The theme of familial bonds is a positive element incorporated into the storyline. Although I personally would have preferred zombies, the filmmakers effectively portray the story’s events, the characters' emotional states, and their overall reactions throughout. What I found irritating was witnessing characters repeatedly make errors while trying to survive—which, naturally, moves the plot forward incrementally.
