“Inside Out 2” manages to be both touching and creative, expanding on what made the first film so impactful. Kelsey Mann’s direction brings us back to Riley as she deals with the difficulties of being a teenager, and her emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—are there to help her through it all. The story also presents some new feelings, which creates interesting situations and obstacles. The visuals are bright and full of detail, doing a great job showing what’s happening inside Riley's head. “Inside Out 2” has smart writing, funny parts, and genuinely moving scenes that connect with viewers, providing an insightful look at maturing and how to handle feelings.
