It deserves credit for sidestepping the usual teen slasher tropes, and generally the performances were acceptable, with particular praise due to the central actress, Lindsay LaVanchy. It’s hard not to think this is what the new Black Christmas film ought to have been. The pacing does lag somewhat—I believe there are more than 40 minutes before the initial death occurs—but it's still something I would recommend seeing. **3.25/5**
