It was enjoyable enough to consider watching again, and I would suggest it to others. However, I encountered several issues while viewing this film. The premise showed promise, yet felt unsuited for a visual medium, creating an impression of forced action sequences reminiscent of "Ad Astra." Mark Wahlberg’s presence as the lead character led to moments where his dialogue seemed simplistic and undermined the overall tone; at times it felt like he was repeating phrases like “Someone stole my teddy bear.” A significant problem stems from the story's expansive timeline, spanning centuries or even millennia. This vastness isn't depicted on screen, which prevented me from developing an emotional connection to these immortal characters. The film simply expects you to accept their importance. For a considerable portion of the movie, I found myself sympathizing with the antagonists because their scheme is presented with a degree of logic and rationale: eliminate everyone, and there will be no possibility of resurrection. It’s a somewhat amusing twist on the saying "When your enemy goes to ground, leave no ground to go to." Despite featuring a talented cast and substantial financial backing, resulting in visually appealing production values and an intriguing idea, the film ultimately fails to deliver due to its shortcomings. I simply didn't become invested in the characters.
