The actors involved really elevate the material. *Indecent Proposal* turned out to be more earnest than I anticipated, especially considering how silly the story is; it might have been improved if handled as a humorous piece. While watching, I was looking for a moment of genuine emotional intensity that would grab your attention, but instead it just moves along its lengthy 117 minutes without generating much excitement or intrigue. Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson, and Robert Redford definitely make the experience more entertaining than it has any right to be; I found their acting appealing. It was also nice to spot Oliver Platt, and Billy Bob Thornton in a smaller role. Overall, it’s not particularly impressive, but the strength of the three leads allows it to just barely qualify as worthwhile viewing.
