"Ice Road" functions as a straightforward action thriller. The issue with this movie is that the storyline feels familiar; it’s been done so often before that any original excitement has faded away. What doesn't help matters is the low-budget quality of the production, which further diminishes its entertainment value. There are some positives to be found in the frequent action sequences—pursuits, brawls, gunfire, and explosions abound. Ultimately, it’s a simple, entirely unremarkable action movie.
