The movie *Ice Princess* is perfectly adequate; it doesn’t surpass expectations, nor does it disappoint. Michelle Trachtenberg as Casey, Hayden Panettiere portraying Gen, Kim Cattrall in the role of Tina, and Joan Cusack playing Joan—with a clever name choice—all deliver performances that are pleasing to watch. While the characters portrayed by the latter two can be frustrating at times, it seems that was done on purpose. Erik King also makes an appearance, which I’d describe as unexpected. Christophe Beck deserves recognition for his excellent musical score; every piece felt appropriate to what was happening onscreen. The central idea revolving around figure skating is engaging enough to witness. It's not remarkable in any way, but it’s a safe and acceptable film from 2005.
