A disastrous event results in numerous deaths, and the spirits of those who perished begin to intertwine with the lives of the people left behind, though seemingly unable to make contact...or are they? I thought this was really interesting. The core idea is unlike anything I’ve encountered before (I wasn't familiar with the novel). It unfolds at a deliberate speed and doesn’t rely heavily on jump scares, but the narrative possesses considerable depth, featuring several smaller surprises that kept me completely invested from beginning to end. If you try to dissect it too much, you probably won’t appreciate it; simply relax and go along for the experience—it's worthwhile. -- DrNostromo.com
