Simultaneously, increasingly bizarre events begin to occur. What is behind these occurrences? “I See You” (2019) combines mystery and drama elements with touches of horror and thriller. The initial portion, lasting about 38 minutes, feels fairly ordinary, but it serves as groundwork for the last hour, where numerous concealed aspects come to light. I’ll refrain from elaborating further because discovering those unexpected twists is a significant part of what makes this film enjoyable. Some critics felt Helen Hunt was too old when filming, around age 55, but that wasn't necessarily an issue. Her character’s son in the story is approximately 17 years old, implying she would have been about 38 when giving birth—a perfectly reasonable timeframe. My own mother had me at 39, for example. “I See You” isn’t widely known, but it deserves more attention; it provides a solid experience within the crime thriller/horror genre. I wouldn't want to finish without acknowledging Libe Barer’s performance as Mindy. The film has a running time of 1 hour and 38 minutes and was filmed in the Cleveland area, including locations like Chagrin Falls, Lakewood (the Harper residence on Lake Erie), Solon, Linwood Park, and Sirna's Farm in Auburn.
