The film's combination of beautiful Chinese traditions and an affecting narrative creates something both stunning to look at and genuinely heartfelt. While younger viewers might need some help from their parents to fully appreciate it, the movie imparts important lessons about determination and resilience through its relatable central character. The animation is superb, the musical score complements the visuals well, and the voice performances are impressive, all of which contribute to a heightened emotional experience, particularly as the story reaches its peak; it’s an experience that stays with you afterward.
