The name suggested something along the lines of a crime story, which is what I thought I was going to see. However, the film turned out to be quite different, continually shifting as it progressed. The character Christopher Lloyd portrayed was entirely surprising; I had my questions about it, but I missed the mark regarding its genre. That element proved to be the strongest aspect of the movie, creating a darkly comedic feel. Adapted from the first book in a trilogy sharing the same title, this is an Irish-British psychological thriller. It felt somewhat like a B movie, though with noticeably higher production values. Even after several weeks have passed since I watched it, it still feels fresh in my mind, despite having viewed many films in between. This one’s destined to become a cult film, but probably not a classic. Its independent nature helped the premise resonate with me. The story centers on a teenager living in a small town who observes unsettling disappearances. He understands what's happening, but struggles to get anyone else to believe him. Consequently, he must confront the situation alone, and the resolution includes a slight surprise. It’s a worthwhile film, at least for some viewers, especially those who enjoy smaller-scale suspenseful thrillers. _5/10_
